Since its inception in 1989, ConvTek has completed
over 50 Enterprise application transformation projects as an IBM Business Partner
in the U.S. and abroad, most of them VSE to MVS (OS/390 or z/OS) migrations.
In 1989, ConvTek's (at the time named TCN/AMS) Patrick
Fournier and Gilbert Saint-Flour were invited by IBM to participate in the development of the
OS/390 Migration Workbook (SG24-2043).
While Gilbert Saint-Flour provided the content for JCL,
code, and file conversion, Patrick Fournier documented the
IBM-recommended mass conversion approach and project
planning guidelines.
ConvTek has been a repeat participant to the IBM z Series Technical Conference expos, and a repeat conference speaker on the subject of the mass conversion approach for migrating VSE data centers to MVS.
IBM published as a success story the 1991 VSE to MVS migration of the County of Kern in Bakersfield CA, a project
that ConvTek completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
IBM NJ Trading Area awarded its 1994 Project Management Quality Award to ConvTek for a series of VSE to MVS
migrations that saw the elimination of over 30 ADP VSE data
centers into a half-dozen MVS regional service centers, from
1991 to 2002.
